Swap to the Roof Top has partnered with InReach, to be the recipient of all of our hard work, and your generosity. 

InReach (formerly Residential & Support Services Inc), founded in 1974, is a private non-profit organization that provides residential services and community support to individuals with developmental and other disabilities including mental retardation, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, and traumatic brain injuries.

What does this mean for our trades? Due to this partnership we will also be able to make all trades tax deductible. We are currently still accepting offers for the custom neon sign. Remember the goal is to eventually receive a house, and the only way we are going to get there is through your continued support. We look forward to the results of our new partnership and the amazing spirit of Charlotte to continue to help your neighbors.  You guys are awesome. Thank you!

5th trade: Custom sign by neonworks - ????

Good news everybody, we are now up to our 5th trade.  We want to thank Deb Slatkin with neonworks here in Charlotte for trading a custom made neon sign for our coffee table and leather couch.

Since 1994, neonworks has been designing, bending and installing custom neon signs throughout Charlotte and the surrounding area. You may recognize their work from Harper's To Go Go, Showmars, Pinky's, Cosmos Bar/Resturant, NODA @ 28th Street, Phillips Place Movie Theater and many more. The details on the sign are as follows :neonworks trade

One custom neon sign: the sign will have one transformer (the # of transformers determine how much neon can be on the sign). Most often, window signs or wall signs will just use one transformer. The color or number of colors doesn't matter. There's a range of at least 30 colors that the customer can choose from. Approximate value of this custom sign is $500

This sign would be a great addition to your storefront, restaurant,  game room  or even garage. Here is your chance to own a custom made sign while ultimately helping a local family out with a new house.  We are open to discuss any trades keeping in mind our goal is to eventually end up with the deed to a new home in Charlotte for a needy family. 4th trade: leather sofa and glass coffee table - ????

One exciting aspect of our project has been that don't know what we will end up with next. We traded seven nails for two awesome strollers and we thought surely these would be snapped up. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

 We adjusted our plan and donated the strollers to Sarah's House (a mother-child residential parenting Program) through Florence Crittenton Services of North Carolina. This organization offers one of the largest comprehensive residential pregnancy programs in the US. Wrought iron and glass coffee table

48" long x 25" wide x 18" tall

This coffee table has and will fit anywhere. It has been the center of my gallery when I showed paintings in NoDa and held my students' work for the years since I've been teaching graphic design at CPCC. Stories, grades, critiques, laughter and tears have been shared over it's reflective glass surface. Being swapped up to a rooftop is its next big adventure. 

To imagine a coffee table one day becoming a house for a family and to donate the strollers to an agency that helps families has been a rich and satisfying step in my life. Will you be the next person to make a trade that will eventually make a family home?
